Around 1998 the independent Czech label Rachot had two groups with very similar instrumentation but quite different music in its roster: Metamorphosis and Deep Sweden. The musicians of the two groups kept meeting on concerts, in studios and got to know each other. Martin began to work on some of his material with the Deep Sweden lead vocalist Alex, which created the base for SingSing. It was an unusual project, the label Rachot booked 2 weeks in the studio for the following year; the project was enhanced by Alex's colleague from Deep Sweden cellist Lucy Fillery-Murphy, the British rock drummer Marcus Godwyn and Metamorphosis guitarist Richard Deutsch, who had a chance to show his multi-instrumentalist talents. The group went into studio after a summer of rehearsing, without having played a single concert. The album was received enthusiastically, the group started to tour and played some memorable concerts. But following the disbandment of Alex and Lucy's main project Deep Sweden Alex moved back to the United States, Lucy to England (to return to Prague in couple of years), Marcus and Richard to St. Petersburg, Russia.

Today Alex is fishing in more avantgarde waters (check out her myspace; Lucy is composing music for films and plays studio sessions as a cellist, pianist and singer, and is also planning her solo album; Marcus plays with several Russian groups and continues his project Noise of time; Richard continues to play with Martin in Metamorphosis and with numerous other projects and groups, like the new Frozen Orchestra. The label Rachot transformed into a successful concert agency, bringing music from free improvisation to traditional African groups to Czech Republic.
