"So, what kind of music do you play?" has been a hard question to answer, usually the members would mumble something about the instrumentation - electric and nylon string guitar, violin and cello electrified, mostly instrumental pieces, but occasional spoken like vocals mostly in turkish and viking choirs... People called it different things, some very fitting, like "contaminated chamber music" (musica di camara contaminata - by an Italian organizer) or "music for yet unshot films". This confusion allowed Metamorphosis to perform in very different environments, from jazz clubs to contemporary music festivals, from rock festivals to typically classical music halls.

Since 1998 Metamorphosis has released 3 albums with small but fine labels (the extinct Czech label Rachot/Behemot, which is a concert agency today, and the renowned Leorecords from England). The group played concerts in many European countries, a US tour and several festivals and clubs in Russia.
Metamorphosis have inspired directors, dancers and artists. The composition „Mina” was used (and gave the title) for a solo dance performance by Daniela Lehmann, which won the award for the best german dance solo 2005 in Leipzig. Pieces by the group were used in several documentary films. Metamorphosis also created a soundtrack for Gustav Machaty's film classic "Ekstase" and performed it on the film festival Diagonale in Graz.

Metamorphosis are known by their energetic concert performances, it is definitely a "live" band. The albums are also old-school live-in-the-studio type recordings with a minimum amount of overdubs. When the group started off in 1998, all instruments were played through tube amplifiers, creating a very raw sound. In their long search for the ideal sound for a half acoustic half electric band, the group gradually started to use sensitive microphones for the acoustic instruments, and a smaller amp for the electric guitar. Despite the numerous projects and geographical distance (Prague, St. Petersburg, Brno) of the group members, Metamorphosis continues to play concerts and record a new album every 3 or 4 years. The next one is soon due...
