Periferie - 2004
with: Miloš Vojtěchovský, Martin Blažíček, Beth Custer, Christoph Pajer

Alexander Hammid is the author of the famous 1930 short film "Aimless Walk" (Bezúčelná procházka). This silent picture poem captures (seemingly) "aimless" walk of an unknown man through the urban peripheries of pre-war Prague. One of the fundamental works of the Czech avantgarde film, it is a film where the pattern of the story is repeated and it shows the mythical character of an eternal "Prague passer-by", the motives of disunity and seeming, improvisation and non-linear process of perception. The Periferie project is a synthesis of video, film and live music. The authentic film material of Hammid's film is complemented with new photo and video pictures, while enriched by and combined with ambient sounds and music shapes and forms.
